However, during Harry’s short trip, the heir to the throne was several miles away, carrying out engagements in Scotland and Bristol. Now, a royal expert said these trips may have been planned in advance to send a clear message.
Royal commentator Duncan Larcombe claimed it was “no coincidence” that William was nowhere near London last week.
He told the Mirror: “Court cases notoriously never start when they say they’re going to, so it wasn’t a set-in-stone date for this trial.
“But it seems to be more than just a coincidence that William had taken himself out of the country, ensuring he was nowhere near Windsor, or where Harry might be. It wasn’t the first time he was out of town when Harry had a court hearing.”
The last time the two feuding brothers were seen together was in August 2024, when they both attended the funeral of their uncle, Lord Robert Fellowes.
However, reports at the time suggested that the two did not exchange a single word in what was seen as a frosty encounter.
Mr Larcombe added: “They used to bounce off each other – they were absolutely great together.
“They didn’t come across as rivals, they came across as two brothers that enjoyed a lot of banter.”
