Q My biological father died six months ago. I hadn’t seen him since I was three years old – 30 years ago – as he walked out on my mother and we never saw him again. I’d heard he moved to Australia.
My mother said he never paid child maintenance, and as she was a single mother, she and I always struggled financially. He returned to Ireland about five years ago to live on a family farm he inherited from his father, according to one of his sisters.
