Chelsea made it six wins in seven matches in all competitions, and three Premier League victories in three matches since Liam Rosenior arrived in West London as Enzo Maresca’s replacement.

After wins over Charlton, Brentford, Pafos and Crystal Palace, Rosenior faced his toughest and probably, most important week since arriving. A week which included a crucial Champions League clash in Naples.

Followed by a bitter London derby with West Ham. A game which lived up to the fractious relationship between the two sets of supporters at the end of the game, which a fracas ensued and resulted in a red.

Before that, Chelsea were booed off at half-time. They were losing to Napoli before eventually winning and on Saturday, they were 2-0 down at half-time. But, Chelsea made history, coming back to win 3-2.

Gary Cahill thinks Chelsea have a new Frank Lampard

Having made changes for the match, and those changes clearly not working, Rosenior had made four substitutions by the time the second half got underway. The subs combined to draw Chelsea level.

Joao Pedro got on the end of a Wesley Fofana cross, before Marc Cucurella made it 2-2 with a brave header from close range. Then, in injury time, Enzo scored his fourth goal under Rosenior’s guidance.

A well-placed finish after a good cutback from Pedro to win 3-2. Speaking to Premier League Productions after the game, former Chelsea defender Cahill compared “leader” Enzo to Chelsea icon Frank Lampard.

“He’s proving to be a big player for this Chelsea team, he’s relied upon now as one of the leaders. I like the piece of play from Joao Pedro, spins away from the defender and the awareness to pull it back.

“Frank Lampard, he wore the no.8 shirt and was famous for arriving at the right time, the right place, and Enzo does that there. They’re relying on Enzo and Joao Pedro at the moment,” Cahill told PLP last night.

The numbers: Enzo Fernandez v Frank Lampard

Enzo has, of course, only played a fraction of the games that Lampard managed. Yet, Saturday was Enzo’s 150th appearance for Chelsea and while he might not make another 500, he will certainly play a lot more.

That is if Chelsea can keep him away from PSG’s clutches. In his 150 Chelsea games, Enzo has clocked up 54 goals and assists, averaging an involvement every 218 minutes. Still impressive, but a long way to go.
