Harrison Armstrong will remain with Everton for the rest of the season. The teenager spent the first half of the campaign on loan at Preston North End, where he became a key part of the club’s Championship promotion drive.
He was recalled by David Moyes at the start of the month and has since become an important player, starting the last five successive games.
Blues boss Moyes had been open to allowing the 19-year-old to return to Deepdale for the remainder of the campaign and said it would be wrong to read too much into his use of the England youth international after the 1-1 draw with Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.

But, as first reported by the Times, it is now understood the decision to keep Armstrong has been made, with the teenager set to compete for a place alongside fellow midfielders including Idrissa Gueye, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Merlin Rohl, James Garner and Tim Iroegbunam.
The decision comes with Everton closing on a deal that would bring Chelsea teenager Tyrique George to the club.
The clubs have been in talks over the 19-year-old for several days and there is now growing confidence on the Everton side that an initial loan deal, expected to include an option to buy, will be signed off before the end of the transfer window on Monday night.
