A men’s wellbeing service has issued a statement following an alleged attempted murder that left a woman in hospital with stab wounds. Men2Men Network CIC, a community initiative that supports men’s mental health, confirmed it is aware of reports that police are seeking a former employee in connection with the alleged incident.

The group is funded by the local health board and operates across Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion, offering hubs, peer support and community projects aimed at helping isolated men. Dyfed-Powys Police said they were called to Carmarthen Park at around 4pm on Thursday afternoon following reports of an assault.

On Sunday Men2Men shared on social media that officers are seeking one of its former colleagues in connection with the alleged incident. It comes after police shared that officers are searching for 57-year-old James McKenna in connection with a reported attempted murder.

The full statement from Men2Men reads: “Men2Men Network CIC is aware of reports that the police are seeking a former employee in connection with a serious incident. We recognise that this news may be distressing for many.

“Our first and deepest concern is for the person who has been harmed. Our thoughts are firmly with them, and we sincerely hope they are surrounded by care and support as they recover.

“At this time, we respectfully ask our community to refrain from speculating or sharing unverified information. We believe it is important to allow the proper processes to take place, with compassion and integrity for all involved.

“Men2Men Network CIC is cooperating fully with the authorities. The safety, wellbeing, and trust of our community, service users, staff and volunteers remains our highest priority, and we are taking this responsibility with the seriousness it deserves.

“Thank you for your understanding, care, and sensitivity during this difficult time.”
