While Lewis Hamilton is reported to be dating American reality star Kim Kardashian, he has split links with his closest professional lieutenant.

Daily Mail Sport can reveal that the F1 legend has parted company with Marc Hynes ahead of the upcoming Formula One season – for a second time.

It is understood that Hynes, 47, has taken up a new role with the US-based Cadillac team that join the grid this year.

Whether Hynes remains involved in any aspects of Hamilton’s affairs remains to be seen, but this development represents a significant break from Hynes’ previous heavy involvement with the driver.

Hynes was chief executive of ‘Project 44’, Hamilton’s management company, from 2015 to 2021, and had a daily role in looking after the seven-time world champion’s racing affairs as a key part of his entourage last year.

Hynes, a former British Formula Three champion, was brought back to oversee Hamilton’s racing logistics at Ferrari after the pair first went their separate ways five years ago in an amicable split. Hynes attended all races – or practically every race – alongside Hamilton in 2025.

According to various well-placed sources, this second fracture is again believed to be on friendly terms.

There are suggestions from other key figures within Formula One that Hamilton, 41, wanted to revamp his personal team as a reset in reaction to a disappointing first year at Ferrari, in which he was podium-less and called his form ‘absolutely useless’.

It was announced last month that Hamilton’s race engineer Riccardo Adami has been moved sideways by Ferrari as part of this overhaul.

Hamilton retains a close inner-circle of staff – including trainer Angela Cullen, as well as those looking after his media image and at least one security man – to support him as he goes into the new season, which starts in Melbourne on March 8.

But his friendship with trusted helper Hynes outdates all those associations. The pair have known each other through the junior ranks of motor racing going back to Hamilton’s early career.

Although last week’s test in Spain took place behind closed doors, it is understood from a number of team personnel that Hamilton was in buoyant mood after experiencing Ferrari’s response to the major rejig of the sporting regulations that introduce slimmed-down cars in 2026.

Ferrari and Cadillac were approached for a comment on Hynes’ departure. Ferrari declined to respond.
