Bristol City have signed Oliwia Woś from 1.Nurnberg for an undisclosed fee subject to international clearance.

The 26-year-old defender has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal that will keep her at Ashton Gate until the summer of 2029.

Woś began her football journey in Germany, developing through the youth ranks at FSV Witten.

In 2016, she made her senior debut with Herforder SV in the 2. Frauen-Bundesliga, where she went on to make 21 appearances and score once.

The following year, the Polish international moved to Arminia Bielefeld, adding a further 22 appearances before heading to the United States to play college football, where she amassed 64 appearances.

In 2022, Woś signed a two-year contract with FC Zürich Frauen.

During her time in Switzerland, she won the 2022/23 Swiss Women’s Super League, featuring in 14 league matches and three times in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Woś joined FC Basel in June 2024 on a two-year deal and enjoyed an impressive spell, scoring five goals andproviding three assists in 25 matches.

Her strong form earned her a call up up to the Poland international team for the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025, as wellas a move to 1. FC Nürnberg in June 2025, where she went on to make ten appearances.

On signing for City, she said: “I’m really excited to be playing here it’s always been a dream for me to come to England and when the opportunity came, I didn’t wait long.

“When I read about Mercury 13 and learned all about their movements and what they stand for I was drawn by inspiration and women empowerment.”
