London picked up 13 new Bibs, an increase on the 10 of last year. In total, 37 restaurants across the country were given the accolade, which was launched in 1997 as a way to credit restaurants offering top-tier food and service, but which sit outside fine-dining. Value is paramount, though the price point is today unset. In 2019, Bib Gourmands were specified as venues that served three courses for £30 or less, but that formula has been abandoned and instead, Michelin say they give the nod to “restaurants offering excellent value for the quality of their cooking.”
