Stan Zimmerman’s drama Right Before I Go is getting a UK industry reading next month, featuring a number of West End stars.

Current leads of the hit West End musical The Devil Wears Prada at the Dominion Theatre, Vanessa Williams (Ugly Betty) and Matt Henry (Kinky Boots), have signed up to perform at the reading.

Zimmerman will also perform as the Narrator.

The industry reading for Right Before I Go will take place at Soho Theatre in London on 2 March 2026, directed by Abigail Morris (Colder Than Here), and with casting by Jill Green (War Horse).

Following the performance there will be a discussion with a local mental health professional.

“I am honored to share the stage with these two theatre titans. It’s especially heartening considering the epidemic that suicide has become. In 2024, over 7,000 people died by suicide in the U.K. We lose over 700,000 globally every year. This play hopes to provoke conversation, reduce the stigma and potentially save lives.” – STAN ZIMMERMAN

Stan Zimmerman’s play about suicide first premiered at the Hollywood Fringe Festival in 2015. Zimmerman collected real suicide notes from war veterans, bullied kids, celebrities, and more for the piece, which ultimately builds into a message of hope.

An Off-Broadway run in 2025 at The Tank starred a rotating cast.

Stan Zimmerman is best known for writing scripts for a number of classic TV series, including The Golden Girls, Roseanne, and Gilmore Girls.
