A bumper pay deal has been secured for First Bus engineers across Greater Glasgow.
Unite, Scotland’s leading trade union, announced on Wednesday, May 7, that around 150 engineers who maintain and repair First Glasgow’s buses have secured a 13.3% pay increase.
This will be backdated to April 2025, and has a cash value rise of nearly £4700 for every engineer employed by First Glasgow’s operations.

The latest pay deal means that Unite has lifted wages by over 30% or around £9700 from 18 months ago.
In November 2023, Unite delivered an incremental deal which increased the minimum wage level of engineers by 17.6% in April 2024.
This had a cash value worth over £5000.
