Prince Harry and King Charles’ broken relationship appears to be as bad as ever.
Recently, the Duke of Sussex revealed he is no longer in touch with his father, sparking concerns that their relationship may be irreparably damaged.
Tensions between Harry and Charles have been escalating since the Sussexes stepped down from royal duties and began speaking out against the royal family in interviews, their Netflix series and Harry’s tell-all memoir Spare.
A significant indication of the strain on their relationship came in February 2024, when Harry traveled from California to London after the King’s cancer diagnosis was announced, leaving his wife and children behind in Montecito.
However, according to royal author Lady Colin Campbell, Harry’s meeting with Charles lasted a mere 12 minutes.
“I think we have to give up hope that the rift between the brothers will be healed at any time in the near future, or indeed ever,” she expressed last year. “William’s head and heart must be bursting with all that he has on his plate.”
Bond said, “Dealing with ‘the Harry problem’ is probably just one step too far for William. I believe he has moved on with his life and has, to all intents and purposes, disowned the brother to whom he was once so close.”
In a recent interview with BBC News, Harry spoke candidly.
“I would love reconciliation with my family. There’s no point in continuing to fight anymore,” he declared. “Life is precious. I don’t know how much longer my father has.”
“He won’t speak to me because of this security stuff, but it would be nice to reconcile.”
