A man was left with potentially life-changing injuries after a horror attack in Manchester city centre. The victim suffered serious injuries in the assault in the early hours of Wednesday (May 7).
Greater Manchester Police said the victim, aged in his 30s, was rushed to hospital from the scene where he remains for treatment.
An investigation into the incident has been launched. Police said it was reported the serious assault occurred shortly after midnight on Dantzig Street, in the city centre.

A CCTV image of man police want to speak to has now been issued as detectives believe he could help with the ongoing enquiries.
Detective Constable Phillip Sargeant of Longsight CID said: “We are investigating a serious assault which left the victim with serious injuries which he was taken to hospital for treatment where he remains.
“We are following up on a number of lines of enquiry to establish a full timeline of events leading up to this incident. If anyone has any information, witnessed the incident or can identify the man in the image, please contact us as soon as possible.”
