A former bar in Greater Manchester has gone up for sale with a six-figure price tag.
Last summer, Revolution Bars announced it would be closing a number of sites across the country, with the Wigan venue on King Street amongst the venues that eventually shut down.
Closed in August last year, the Wigan Town Centre bar had first opened in 2008. Across the North West, the Revolution venues on Deansgate Locks and in Blackpool also shut as the chain made cuts citing the ‘disproportionate effect of the cost-of-living crisis and the national living wage’.
Since its closure at the end of August, the venue, on 49 King Street, has remained vacant and is now listed for sale by leisure property specialists Fleurets. The freehold of the property has been offered with vacant possession at a guide price of £550,000.
The specialists have described the two-storey detached property as being within a ‘well-established nightlife destination’, with approximately 6,725 sq ft of space. It features a stage area, elevated seating, diner-style seating and dining space, alongside a kitchen area.

Fleurets North West has said it anticipates there will be interest from other bar venues about taking the property on, but is also expecting to consider other leisure ventures.
Tim Martin, Divisional Director of Fleurets North West, said: “Revolution Bars operated this venue until August 2024. We anticipate strong interest from other bar operators, though the site also holds appeal for a wider range of leisure uses.
“For alternative-use purchasers, subject to the necessary planning consents, the property could also lend itself to retail or office development.”
In 2022, the Wigan venue received a renovation costing more than £157,000 which featured improvements to its seating areas, including large party booths. The same year, Revolution was named Bar Brand of the Year at the National Pub and Bar Awards.
There are still Revolution venues on Oxford Road and on Parsonage Gardens, alongside venues in Preston and Liverpool. Owners The Revel Group, which were formerly known as The Revolution Bars Group, also runs Revolución de Cuba.
