Princess Charlotte has been compared to one iconic royal following her public appearance on Monday at the VE Day 80th anniversary parade. The young royal, 10, stepped out with her parents Prince William and Princess Kate, along with her siblings Prince George and Prince Louis, to mark the historic occasion.

While many royal fans are usually quick to compare the princess to her parents, her great grandmother Queen Elizabeth II, or even the late Princess Diana, her appearance on Monday sparked a new comparison. Since her latest appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony on Monday, Charlotte has been compared to Princess Anne – her father’s auntie. As well as comparing the young royal to the Princess Royal, 74, in terms of their facial similarities, royal fans also believe they share similar personalities.

This is because Charlotte, like Anne, seems to have a very no-nonsense approach when it comes to her royal appearances, taking her role as a princess very seriously and even keeping her two brothers in check.

Fans also think Charlotte is likely to be similar to Anne in the future and is likely to offer the same amount of support to her older brother Prince George when he becomes King, as Anne currently offers to her own brother King Charles.

While unconfirmed, Charlotte could also one day inherit Anne’s title as The Princess Royal, a title she could be entitled to have when her father Prince William is King and when Princess Anne passes away.

Discussing the similarities between the two royals, one fan wrote on X: “Charlotte is showing Princess Anne’s stoicism, pragmatism, and no nonsense attitude.”

Another said: “Same look. Never realised they looked that much alike.”

A third wrote: “I hope Princess Charlotte will be as amazing a supporter of George as The Princess Royal is for her brother.”

Someone else added: “Suspect our Charlotte is going to prove to be King Charles’ Princess Anne.”

Last year, an insider revealed that Anne has been training Charlotte in royal etiquette, something Prince William, 42, and Princess Kate, 43, reportedly approve of.

An insider told Woman magazine: “Anne’s ‘training’, if you will, isn’t just about rank, file, and curtsies either. She’s shown her how to spark conversations, but also how to end one and move on without upsetting anyone.

“Kate and William are thrilled. They couldn’t imagine a better role model than Anne, who is renowned for her work ethic and impregnable support for the King. She doesn’t put a foot wrong whilst still having her opinions not only heard but respected.

“Anne was invaluable to Kate during those early uncertain years, especially as a commoner. She wants Charlotte to have the same candid tough love Anne gave her.”
