Huge crowds have been spotted in an Edinburgh beauty spot as locals flock to enjoy one of the hottest weekends of the year.
The weather began to warm on Friday, May 9, treating locals to a delightfully sun-filled weekend.
The Met Office forecasted heat for the entire weekend, with Edinburgh becoming as hot as Rome this week.

Temperatures in the Scottish capital reached as high as 20C on Saturday, March 10. Locals took mother nature’s memo and descended upon Edinburgh green spaces to soak up the rays.
Photos from the Meadows on Saturday show hundreds of residents enjoying the weather.
Countless groups can be seen gathering around picnic blankets, barbecuing, and playing music. Some can even be seen enjoying the weather while they sit on the lawn typing on laptops.

Weather is projected to remain scorching all weekend. Sunday, May 11 will round out the weekend with sustained sunshine and another high of 20C. Sunbathers can enjoy warm weather as early as 10am with 17C temperatures, which will rise steadily as the day wears on.
Edinburgh Live reporter earlier on Saturday how fire services were on the scene in the Meadows extinguishing a bin fire.
A witness told Edinburgh Live: “It definitely smelled of smoke. There’s lots of people with barbecues today so I wouldn’t be surprised if someone had thrown one away and it had caught on fire.”
