The death of man whose body was found close to the North West 200 circuit is not being treated as suspicious by police.
The man’s remains were found on the shoreline at Rinnagree Point, near Ballyreagh Road, in Portrush in the early hours of Friday morning.
It is understood the man was not from the area and had been staying at a hotel in the town.
It has been reported his remains were found by a member of the public.
They were later recovered following an operation involving the coastguard.
A spokeswoman for the PSNI said police are investigating the circumstances of the death, which is not being treated as suspicious.
A post-mortem examination is to be carried out.
A spokeswoman said: “Thank you to all of those who have assisted our officers in relation to this tragic accident, our thoughts are with the deceased’s family at this sad time.”
