West Midlands Police officers are probing reports of gunshots on a Birmingham street in the early hours.

It happened on Hooper Street, at around 3.30am, today, Sunday, May 11.

The force said no-one was injured.

The investigation remained ongoing to establish what happened.

Police appealed for witnesses or anyone with footage to contact them.

In a statement, police said today: “We are investigating after gunshots were heard at around 3.30am this morning in Hooper Street, Birmingham.

“Thankfully no-one was injured and no damage was caused to any buildings.

“We are conducting enquiries as part of our investigation such as speaking to witnesses and reviewing CCTV footage.
