A pensioner has died following a collision between a car and a pedestrian in Cullyhanna on Monday morning, police have confirmed.

Police, the fire service, and the Air Ambulance attended the scene in the Tullynavall Road area of Cullyhanna.

It’s understood that the collision involved a pedestrian and a car, and the elderly woman died at the scene.

The Air Ambulance also attended the incident alongside paramedics, but the NI Ambulance Service also confirmed no one was taken from the scene of the crash.

PSNI Inspector Moore said: “Shortly before 9.30am, officers along with colleagues from other emergency services attended, however sadly the woman, aged in her 70s died at the scene.

“I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anyone with CCTV or other footage that can help with enquiries to contact police on 101 quoting reference 301 12/0525.”
