Staffordshire Police have made two arrests after stopping this ‘stolen’ Toyta Hilux on the Stoke-on-Trent M6

Police have made two arrests on the Stoke-on-Trent M6. Staffordshire Road Crime Team swooped after a Toyota Hilux had been stolen from Birmingham Aiport.

It is understood that the drama unfolded between junction 15 for Stoke-on-Trent South and junction 16 for Stoke-on-Trent North overnight. A police helicopter was deployed at the height of the police operation.

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “A Hilux stolen from Birmingham Airport without keys was spotted on the M6 heading into our area. Teamwork between ourselves, West Midlands Police, and the National Police Air Service caused the Hilux to stop. Two arrests have been made and car stealing equipment seized.”
