Tributes have been paid to a “loving father and partner” who died following a fatal road traffic collision in the Vale of Glamorgan.
Emergency services were called to the B4265 Wick Road at approximately 3pm on Friday, May 22, after reports of a collision involving a Suzuki motorcycle and a red Toyota Yaris. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, 37-year-old Robert Curl, from Bridgend, was pronounced dead at the scene.
South Wales Police confirmed Robert’s family are being supported by specially trained family liaison officers as investigations into the collision continue.
In a heartfelt tribute, Robert’s devastated family described him as a much-loved son, brother, father and friend whose loss will be deeply felt by everyone who knew him.
They said: “As a family we are devastated at the loss of Robert, a son, brother, loving father, loving partner, uncle, grandson and nephew as well as a friend to many. He touched so many people’s lives and will be loved and missed always.”

One friend wrote: “Rob always a friend, always full of energy and life. We had some fantastic adventures together. A huge hole in our heart.”
The driver of the Toyota Yaris is assisting officers with their enquiries, however police are continuing to appeal for witnesses who saw the collision, or either vehicle prior to the incident, to come forward. Officers are also asking anyone with relevant dashcam or CCTV footage to contact them.
