Manchester City Women stars Lauren Hemp and Alex Greenwood have been recalled to the England squad for their upcoming Nations League matches against Portugal and Spain and could be in line for a call-up to Sarina Wiegman’s Euros squad.
Hemp missed five months of the WSL campaign and last played for England in October and sustained a knee injury the following month. And Greenwood was a substitute in England’s 4-3 loss to Germany in October before also succumbing to injury.
They join Khiara Keating and Jess Park in the squad for the two matches to be played between 21st and 23rd May. The matches have received criticism due to their proximity to the start of the Euros at the beginning of July.
Also included in the squad are Chloe Kelly, who went on loan to Arsenal from City in January, and Georgia Stanway, who left the club in 2022.
The Three Lions face France, Wales and The Netherlands in the group stage, with their first match against the French taking place on Saturday 5th July.
