PERSIAN FORCE colt FANTASY FORCE<\/strong> (6.00, nap) was well backed ahead of his debut at York’s Dante meeting \u2013 finishing third to the Royal Ascot-bound Cut A Dash \u2013 and he can show his true ability in the opener at Ripon on Wednesday evening.<\/p>\n

The charge of Adrian Keatley found himself a little outpaced early on at the Knavesmire which meant he had ground to make up.<\/p>\n

After making that up stylishly, the effort required to challenge the front two was too great.<\/p>\n

But he was still a long way clear of the fourth Dubai Champion, who reopposes today and will have to improve leaps and bounds to make up over five lengths in the British Stallion Studs EBF Novice Stakes.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, over the jumps at Warwick, look no further than THICKTHORN TOM<\/strong> (8.00, nb) in the Rainier Developments Handicap Chase.<\/p>\n

The six-year-old never really caught the eye as a hurdler.<\/p>\n

But his chasing career started more promisingly, with placed efforts at Exeter and Fontwell Park.<\/p>\n

And he certainly wasn\u2019t fully extended when finally getting off the mark at Newton Abbot a week ago, with Harry Skelton barely moving a muscle as he eased to a facile win.<\/p>\n

Despite a 7lb penalty for that success, he remains at a very low base and further glory surely beckons.<\/p>\n
