A window was smashed before a fire erupted at a house in Kearsley\"Fire<\/p>\n

A major emergency response was called to a residential street in Bolton after a ‘smash’ was heard late on Monday night (June 1). A window of a bungalow on Corrie Crescent, Kearsley, had a hole in it following before a blaze erupted at the property.<\/p>\n

Fire crews and police were called to the scene amid reports of a house fire. They remained in attendance for around an hour as the blaze was tackled and the scene was made safe.<\/p>\n

Witnesses reported hearing a ‘smash’ sound at around 11.30pm before seeing a group of people wearing hoods. Flames then ‘erupted’ from inside the house.<\/p>\n

Pictures from the scene on Tuesday (June 2) showed a fire engine still in attendance following the incident. The front window of a property was also visibly smashed. Greater Manchester Police<\/a> have not yet issued a statement on the incident.<\/p>\n

A neighbour who called the fire service to the scene told the M.E.N: “We were getting ready for bed when we heard a smash, looked out the window and saw three lads in hoods.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne was stood on the pavement and the other two were on the drive. They were squirting something at the window, I think it was some sort of accelerant. They didn\u2019t say anything, just smashed the window and made off.<\/p>\n

\u201cMe and another neighbour called the fire brigade and they came around 11.30. It took them a while to smash the door, so they must have a good door. But when they got in, flames erupted from inside the house.<\/p>\n

\u201cNobody was in the house at the time. We\u2019ve never seen anything like this.\u201d<\/p>\n

Following the incident, a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: \u201cAt around 11:30pm last night (Monday 1 June), three fire engines from Bolton<\/a> Central and Farnworth stations were called to attend a house fire on Corrie Crescent, Kearsley.<\/p>\n

\u201cCrews wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reels to extinguish the fire, and a thermal image camera and a gas monitor to make the area safe. Firefighters were in attendance at the scene for one hour.\u201d<\/p>\n
