A window of a bungalow on Corrie Crescent, Kearsley, had a hole in it following before a blaze erupted at the property.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Fire crews and police were called to the scene amid reports of a house fire. They remained in attendance for around an hour as the blaze was tackled and the scene was made safe.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Witnesses reported hearing a &#8216;smash&#8217; sound at around 11.30pm before seeing a group of people wearing hoods. Flames then &#8216;erupted&#8217; from inside the house.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\"><a aria-label=\"[object Object]Link opens in a new tab.\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/newsletter-preference-centre\/?view=Solus&amp;mailingListId=b8052254-66af-41f3-9dae-7bbb0e3391c6&amp;utm_source=solusarticle\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_blank\"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">Click here<\/strong><\/a><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\"> to get the biggest stories straight to your inbox in our Daily Newsletter<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Pictures from the scene on Tuesday (June 2) showed a fire engine still in attendance following the incident. The front window of a property was also visibly smashed. <a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/greater-manchester-police\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"\">Greater Manchester Police<\/a> have not yet issued a statement on the incident.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">A neighbour who called the fire service to the scene told the M.E.N: &#8220;We were getting ready for bed when we heard a smash, looked out the window and saw three lads in hoods.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">\u201cOne was stood on the pavement and the other two were on the drive. They were squirting something at the window, I think it was some sort of accelerant. It took them a while to smash the door, so they must have a good door. But when they got in, flames erupted from inside the house.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">\u201cNobody was in the house at the time. We\u2019ve never seen anything like this.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Following the incident, a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: \u201cAt around 11:30pm last night (Monday 1 June), three fire engines from <a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/bolton\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"\">Bolton<\/a> Central and Farnworth stations were called to attend a house fire on Corrie Crescent, Kearsley.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">\u201cCrews wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reels to extinguish the fire, and a thermal image camera and a gas monitor to make the area safe.
