A new horror movie sequel has been met with huge praise from critics, and an impressive Rotten Tomatoes<\/a> score, days before the release.<\/p>\n

More than 25 years after the original film premiered<\/a>, Final Destination: Bloodlines, the sixth instalment in the terrifying franchise, is set to hit the big screen on May 14 in the UK.<\/p>\n

The flick, directed by Adam Stein and Zach Lipovsky, broke records when the trailer was released in March, quickly becoming the second most-watched horror teaser<\/a> of all time with more than 178million views in the first 24 hours.<\/p>\n

The footage unveiled the latest group of victims hoping to throw a spanner in Death\u2019s vengeful plan, after learning that that they were \u2018never supposed to exist\u2019<\/p>\n

Kaitlyn Santa Juana leads the cast alongside Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, Anna Lore and Rya Kihlstedt \u2013 Bloodlines also serves as Tony Todd\u2019s final role after the horror icon died last year.<\/p>\n

Early reviews have started rolling in, with the follow-up already boasting an incredible 91% Rotten Tomatoes score.<\/p>\n

Tim Robey of the Daily Telegraph commended: \u2018Staggeringly grisly, Michelin-star-worthy fan service.<\/p>\n

\u2018It\u2019s like the lid being whisked back on a silver tureen full of mashed body parts. Hideous, hilarious, and \u2014 boy oh boy \u2014 not for the squeamish.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018For long-running fans or brand-new ones, Final Destination: Bloodlines proves there\u2019s plenty of life left in this series,\u2019 Ian Sandwell from Digital Spy agreed.<\/p>\n

The Hollywood Reporter\u2019s Frank Scheck penned: \u2018The combination of CGI and practical effects works seamlessly, and the sequences are sadistically edited for maximum tension, which is thankfully relieved by frequent doses of mordant humor.\u2019<\/p>\n

Final Destination first hit the big screen in 2000, focusing on Devon Sawa\u2019s Alex Browning<\/a> \u2013 who had a premonition on board a doomed flight to Paris and scrambled to get his peers off the plane.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately for the gang, they found themselves stalked by Death and dying in eerily random freak occurrences as revenge for messing up the plan.<\/p>\n

The official Bloodlines synopsis reads: \u2018The newest chapter in New Line Cinema\u2019s bloody successful franchise takes audiences back to the very beginning of Death\u2019s twisted sense of justice.<\/p>\n

\u2018Plagued by a violent recurring nightmare, college student Stefanie heads home to track down the one person who might be able to break the cycle and save her family from the grisly demise that inevitably awaits them all.\u2019<\/p>\n

Final Destination: Bloodlines is released in cinemas on May 14.<\/strong><\/p>\n
