This year, the two broadcasters worked together to produce Germany’s new national selection show for Eurovision, Chefsache ESC 2025.

When asked in the interview whether the partnership could carry on, Leschek said discussions were underway:

I’m already in discussions with Christine Strobl about the future of our collaboration, regardless of the ESC placing, because it was a great partnership between equals.

Leschek also praised the collaboration between the two broadcasters. She described it as spectacular, and said that the partnership was one that nobody “had it on their bingo card”:

I still think it’s spectacular that we worked so well together on this project. No one would have thought we could achieve a partnership between ARD and RTL with such an outstanding brand as the Eurovision Song Contest, or even had it on their bingo card for 2025. A huge thank you goes to Christine Strobl, with whom I discussed it beforehand, and of course to Mr. ESC, Andreas Gerling, who, like me, had always hoped that Stefan Raab would do it again.

Furthermore, Leschek opened up on her hopes for this year’s contest, where Abor & Tynna are representing Germany with the song “Baller”. She hopes that the song can make it into the top 10, saying that the Eurovision Song Contest is “unpredictable”:

Way up there. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that we’ll make it into the top 10 with “Baller.” If these two deliver, everyone in the arena will go wild, and that will spill over into European living rooms. We already experienced that when the song was performed for the first time in our preliminary round. Unlike the bookmakers, I have a good feeling. But the Eurovision Song Contest remains unpredictable.

Abor & Tynna were the first winners of Chefsache ESC, formed through a collaboration between RTL, one of ARD’s regional broadcasters NDR, and television producer Stefan Raab. “Baller” won the national final after first being selected for the top 5 by Raab and a panel of jurors, and then winning the public vote.

They will perform “Baller” during the second semi-final on Thursday 15 May in Basel as an automatic qualifier. Then, Abor & Tynna will be competing in the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest on Saturday 17 May.

Image Source: ARD / NDR | Source: DWDL.de

Like this:

Like Loading…

Tags: Headline

Posted by:James Stephenson

I’m proud to be a writer at Eurovoix, and even more proud to be creator and producer of the Eurovoix Podcast.

RTL’s Inga Leschek, a TV producer, has said in an interview that RTL is open to continuing their…

[5310
2000,299,1824,2774
0":"post-100263","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-germany","8":"tag-eu","9":"tag-europe","10":"tag-germany","11":"tag-headline
["GET
