A Midlothian shop was targeted twice in one day by a pair of brazen thieves<\/a>, as similar incidents in the area have reportedly worsened.<\/p>\n

Family Shopper, located on Dundas Street in Bonnyrigg<\/a>, was allegedly hit by the same shoplifting duo at around 4.40pm, and again at 9.45pm, on Tuesday, June 2. Although staff were unable to stop them, their actions were caught on CCTV.<\/p>\n

The shocking footage was later shared on social media with a warning<\/a> to other local businesses.<\/p>\n

The manager of the convenience store told Edinburgh Live: “It’s been getting worse in the area lately. Thankfully my staff are okay, but they are getting worried.<\/p>\n

“They know they can get away with it and think nobody will do anything. I think there’s more of them working together as well.”<\/p>\n

In the video, a man and woman can be seen entering the shop, with stills from other cameras showing them being served by a staff member.<\/p>\n

The man leaves, and all appears to be calm until the woman suddenly appears with a basket full of items and flees out the door to the street.<\/p>\n

Management have since reported the incidents to police.<\/p>\n
