\n\tIt\u2019s Weezer<\/a> Wednesday. The band has previewed its upcoming studio album, Weezer, out Aug. 21, with \u201cWe Might As Well Be Strangers,\u201d a new single featuring vocals from Wednesday<\/a>\u2018s Karly Hartzman. \u201cShine Again\u201d arrived as the first single from Weezer in April.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cPlated in what surface instruments call gold. It bears the name Weezer. Its surface is marked by four symbols believed to represent its creators,\u201d Weezer shared on Instagram<\/a> in a caption accompanying the album\u2019s bright gold cover art. \u201cCarry it with you to the Gathering, and witness what follows.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n \n\tThe 10-track album marks Weezer\u2019s first full-length LP in five years, following 2021\u2019s Van Weezer. This time around, they recruited producers Klas Ahlund and Kenneth Blume, who wanted to make \u201cthe most violent Weezer album ever.\u201d Weezer will look back on their legacy and look ahead to the future across the album, which will come to life on their upcoming Weezer: The Gathering Tour, kicking off in September. <\/p>\n \n\tIn February, via Weezer\u2019s Discord channel, Rivers Cuomo confirmed the band had completed recording the album. Fans have already heard different variations of some tracks like \u201cUp in the Clouds,\u201d which originally began as a demo during sessions for Everything Will Be Alright in the End, released in 2014.<\/p>\n \t\tTrending Stories<\/p>\n \n\tIn 2023, Cuomo told Collider<\/a> the band\u2019s next album would feature a song titled \u201cCEO,\u201d which functions as a sequel to \u201cThe Sweater Song.\u201d \u201cIt\u2019s totally meta and mind-bending,\u201d he said. With the album and tour on the way, fans of the band have a lot to look forward to.
