British Formula 4 is to compete on the support bill at July’s British Grand Prix – the first time ever F1, F2, F3, and F4 will compete on the same weekend.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The two immediate rungs on the junior ladder below F1 were already scheduled to be at Silverstone, but British F4, one of the regional F4 championships around the world, is to be added for the first time.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The event will be a non-points scoring round, consisting of two 25-minute plus one lap races, with the cars in action across all three days of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Graduates of British F4 include current F1 championship leader Oscar Piastri, as well as Jack Doohan, Logan Sargeant, and IndyCar star Colton Herta. When it was formerly known as MSA Formula in 2015, Lando Norris scooped the championship title.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cIt goes without saying that this is a real milestone moment for everyone that is involved with the F4 British Championship,” explained Eve Lake-Grange, the British F4 Championship Manager.<\/p>\n
“To have the opportunity to compete on the support bill of Formula 1 at the British Grand Prix is something that we\u2019ve been working towards for a long time, so we are delighted to have been able to now make it happen.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe pride ourselves on being the first step on the pathway to Formula 1, and for our drivers to be able to see the potential career roadmap that is ahead of them, on the same weekend that they are competing, will be both special and inspiring.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe level of interest that we\u2019ve had for this non-championship event has been incredible so far, and we\u2019re shaping up to confirm a bumper, ultra-competitive grid.\u00a0<\/p>\n
