The latest entry is <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/debbie\/\" id=\"auto-tag_debbie\" data-tag=\"debbie\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Debbie<\/a>, executive produced by <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/gabrielle-union\/\" id=\"auto-tag_gabrielle-union\" data-tag=\"gabrielle-union\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Gabrielle Union<\/a>, who is in discussions to star.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tWritten and executive produced by The Fosters co-creator <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/bradley-bredeweg\/\" id=\"auto-tag_bradley-bredeweg\" data-tag=\"bradley-bredeweg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bradley Bredeweg<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/matthew-thomas\/\" id=\"auto-tag_matthew-thomas\" data-tag=\"matthew-thomas\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Matthew Thomas<\/a> (Joker\u2019s Downfall), Debbie, now in development, is described as an elevated legal drama procedural exploring the cost of reinvention and the fine line between justice and survival. It centers on Debbie Powell (a role earmarked for Union), a once-feared attorney whose spectacular public downfall forces her to rebuild her life and career as a public defender, using the skills, connections, and relentless drive that once made her one of Atlanta\u2019s most formidable lawyers to fight for those the system has left behind, one explosive case at a time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tUnion executive produces via her I\u2019ll Have Another alongside Bredeweg, Thomas and Jenny Frankfurt.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tHBO Max\u2019s drama model was introduced by the Emmy-winning medical drama The Pitt which produces 15 episodes a year. The Pitt represents one of the three classic \u201ccop, doctor, lawyer\u201d procedural lanes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tOn the cop side, the streamer has pilot American Blue and <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2026\/05\/david-e-kelley-michael-connelly-nightshade-hbo-max-1236928112\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">also is developing David E. Kelley\u2019s police drama<\/a> Welcome To Catalina, based on the Michael Connelly novel Nightshade. Debbie complements the slate in the legal arena. She will next be seen in The Casket Girls.
