EastEnders has officially confirmed the return of Libby Fox (Belinda Owusu).<\/p>\n

Libby, who is Denise Fox<\/a>\u2019s (Diane Parish) daughter, left Walford in 2017, but made a brief appearance in the flash-forward episode that aired at the start of the year.<\/p>\n

The instalment was set in 2027, and saw Libby enter the Fox-Branning household with Patrick Trueman<\/a> (Rudolph Walker).<\/p>\n

Her mum wasn\u2019t at home, but Libby did find Denise\u2019s phone<\/a> ringing. Libby picked it up, and was deeply concerned to see who was trying to call her mum.<\/p>\n

Having been away from Albert Square for almost 9 years, Libby returns this month to support her family in the wake of Denise\u2019s blood cancer diagnosis, <\/a>and nephew Jordan\u2019s accident. <\/p>\n

Discussing her return, star Belinda Owusu said: \u2018I am beyond thrilled to be back on the Square. Getting the Foxes back together has been such a joy, full of fun and nostalgia! It\u2019s been 20 years since I first joined, so coming back has been like returning home! <\/p>\n

\u2018It\u2019s a really great team and I\u2019ve been loving my time here.\u00a0Libby is coming home to support her family during a difficult time,<\/a> and it\u2019s been so wonderful stepping back into her shoes and becoming a Fox again.\u2019<\/p>\n

Ben Wadey, Executive Producer of the show, added: \u2018We\u2019re thrilled to welcome Belinda back to the role of Libby Fox as we start to uncover another piece of the puzzle of the New Year\u2019s Day flashforward storyline. <\/p>\n

\u2018Libby returns at a particularly emotional time for the Fox-Trueman family, and it\u2019s clear that her family need her now more than ever.\u2019<\/p>\n

Belinda will reprise the role of Libby this June for a short stint. She has already started filming, and her first scenes will air this month.<\/p>\n

Libby left Walford in 2017 to return to Oxford<\/a> University. <\/p>\n
