Friday, 5 June marks National Fish and Chips Day, which nods to the great chippies that keep us fed with their great food all year round.

Created to celebrate all things fish and chips, and unite those in the industry, it recognises the importance and impact of the sector they are a part of. Last year, it celebrated its 10th anniversary and shone a light on the thousands of excellent chippies across the UK.

Earlier this week, we asked you to tell us where to find the best place in Greater Manchester for fish and chips – and you certainly didn’t hold back. We received hundreds of responses as you declared your love for fish, chips, mushy peas and more.

Click here for the latest on Manchester’s food & drink scene, gigs and more in our CityLife newsletter

Whether it’s the perfectly crisp fish batter, chips cooked in dripping or excellent gravy, it’s clear Greater Manchester’s fish and chips shops have earned themselves pride of place in many of our reader’s hearts.
