{"id":1009179,"date":"2026-06-06T12:54:34","date_gmt":"2026-06-06T12:54:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/1009179\/"},"modified":"2026-06-06T12:54:34","modified_gmt":"2026-06-06T12:54:34","slug":"ebrd-and-eu-support-youth-entrepreneurship-in-mongolia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/1009179\/","title":{"rendered":"EBRD and EU support youth entrepreneurship in Mongolia"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>EBRD lending up to US$ 80 million (\u20ac68 million) to Mongolia\u2019s XacBank<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Financing will support youth entrepreneurship<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Project is supported by risk cover provided by the European Union through Global Gateway<\/strong><br \/>&#13;\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is continuing to create growth opportunities for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ebrd.com\/home\/what-we-do\/where-we-invest\/mongolia.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mongolia<\/a> by organising a financing facility to leading Mongolian lender XacBank.<\/p>\n<p>The EBRD\u2019s loan of up to US$ 80 million (\u20ac68 million) will be extended under the EBRD\u2019s Youth in Business (YiB) programme in Central Asia and Mongolia, targeting MSMEs that are led or owned by individuals under the age of 35.<\/p>\n<p>This project is supported by a guarantee of up to \u20ac3.45 million from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ebrd.com\/home\/who-we-are\/our-organisation\/shareholders\/european-union.html\" aria-label=\"European Union\" title=\"European Union\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">European Union<\/a> (EU) under the <a href=\"https:\/\/international-partnerships.ec.europa.eu\/policies\/global-gateway_en\" aria-label=\"Global Gateway\" title=\"Global Gateway\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Global Gateway<\/a> \u2013 its external investment strategy for sustainable development. The loan will be complemented by advisory support and practical training for MSMEs to strengthen their operations, with a focus on innovative digital solutions and financial management. This advisory component is also supported by the EU.<\/p>\n<p>According to official data, more than 60 per cent of Mongolia\u2019s population is aged 35 or under. This young generation represents a dynamic, technically and digitally skilled workforce that will need new job opportunities in the coming years. Creating these opportunities is one of the EBRD\u2019s strategic priorities.<\/p>\n<p>The EBRD has invested more than US$ 3 billion (\u20ac2.6 billion) in Mongolia\u2019s economy through 166 projects to date.
