Update [Sat 6th Jun 2026, 10:15pm]:<\/strong> And just like that, Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered<\/a> is official. Yes, it\u2019s coming to the PS5 on 3rd November for $29.99, powered by Unreal Engine 5.<\/p>\n

While the word \u2018Remastered\u2019 is in the title, this is a full-blown Remake \u2013 the visuals have been completely redone from the ground-up, as shown in the trailer above.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s what the press release says about the game:<\/p>\n

Between this and Barbie Rewind<\/a>, Atari\u2019s got two games coming out in November. At least the release calendar is starting to fill out a little bit after everyone else evacuated the month due to GTA 6<\/a>, eh?<\/p>\n

Original Story:<\/strong> A big story of both State of Play<\/strong><\/a> and Summer Game Fest<\/strong><\/a> is that no games want to go head-to-head with GTA 6<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve seen software evacuate November entirely, which has resulted in ridiculous crowding throughout September and early October.<\/p>\n

But a remaster of 2002\u2019s Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee<\/a> looks like it\u2019s got the guts to go toe-to-toe with Rockstar\u2019s opus, as the reliable snoop billbil-kun reports that a remaster is locked<\/a> for 3rd November \u2013 a little over two weeks prior to the anticipated open world.<\/p>\n

Obviously these two titles aren\u2019t competing directly really, but it is interesting to see someone occupy that early November release window \u2013 maybe the game will find success there, considering everyone else has vacated the month.<\/p>\n

Original developer Pipeworks is said to be making this remaster, which is unusual in that this will mark its PlayStation debut.<\/p>\n

Despite the PS2 being the dominant platform in the early 2000s, this game launched as a GameCube exclusive before eventually being ported to the Xbox. I\u2019m not entirely sure why it skipped Sony\u2019s system.<\/p>\n

The release has a variety of different modes, including destruction where your objective is to cause as much carnage as possible. But I always remember it as a kind of Tekken<\/a>-type title involving giant kaiju.<\/p>\n

According to billbil-kun the remaster will feature enhanced visuals, online multiplayer, and additional single player campaigns for each monster.
