Duffy<\/a>, the Welsh singer behind the 2008 smash \u201cMercy,\u201d will make a surprise return to the stage next month for the first time in nearly 15 years. She revealed on Friday (June 5) via Instagram Stories that she\u2019ll play a \u201csecret intimate gig\u201d in London on July 5\u2014a venue has yet to be announced.<\/p>\n The show is the latest step in Duffy\u2019s return to the public eye after stepping away for over a decade in the wake of a traumatic attack. In a pair<\/a> of statements<\/a> published in 2020, Duffy shared that she had been abducted, raped, and held captive for six weeks, an ordeal that led her to retreat from the spotlight. In March, she announced that she\u2019ll recount her story for the first time in a Hulu Original documentary<\/a> for Disney+<\/a>. Per a press release, the film will include extensive interviews with Duffy, as well as archival footage and conversations with her family, friends, and colleagues in the industry.
