Brazil winger Rodrygo has seemingly hit back at speculation over his mindset and future as a Real Madrid player. It was recently suggested that the winger has been left ‘very angry’ with his current situation<\/a>, ready to force a summer transfer with Liverpool named amongst clubs who would be ready to capitalise.<\/p>\n It was claimed by Spanish publication Marca that Rodrygo has grown increasingly frustrated over the course of the 2024\/25 season<\/a>. He has actually made 50 appearances in all competitions, starting 38 times, but has seen his role change in recent years with Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe’s high-profile arrivals forcing Carlo Ancelotti<\/a> to make tactical alterations.<\/p>\n The Italian coach was then forced to respond after the 24-year-old was absent from two recent matches – including the El Clasico fixture with Barcelona with huge repercussions on the La Liga title race – saying it was due to illness and injury. I\u2019ll be back soon [praying emoji],” a message to his Instagram story read on top of a photograph of the view from inside a recovery chamber.<\/p>\n The message concluded: “Stop making stuff up [facepalm emoji, male sign emoji].”<\/p>\n So Rodrygo himself may have debunked any theories that he is actively seeking to leave Spain, but that still leaves any apparent interest from the Reds unanswered.<\/p>\n What is known is that when Jurgen Klopp<\/a> was manager in 2017, then-sporting director Michael Edwards tried to sign the Brazilian from boyhood club Santos for Liverpool<\/a>.<\/p>\n “We didn\u2019t close the deal because I didn\u2019t want to. I wanted to stay at Santos even though the offer was very good,” the winger personally revealed one year ago.<\/p>\n “The pathway they promised me would also have been very good for my career. I was going to finish my studies in England to prepare for European football.<\/p>\n “It had always been my dream to play in Europe. Everything was very good, but my desire spoke louder. I wanted to stay at Santos and make a bit of history at the club.<\/p>\n “And that\u2019s what happened. I was able to fulfil my dream of playing for Santos.
