ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) \u2014 On Monday, the Falcons made wide receiver Drake London\u2019s four-year $141 million contract extension official. The huge deal shows that even with a new front-office regime, the Falcons know where the talent lies and are committed to keeping this strong offensive core intact.<\/p>\n
London was entering the fifth-year option of his rookie deal, but new head coach Kevin Stefanski made it clear that London is exactly what the Falcons need.<\/p>\n
\u201cDrake represents everything that we believe in in terms of how you play this game, how you approach this game,\u201d Kevin Stefanski said.<\/p>\n
London did not practice Monday as he finished paperwork and physicals. His teammates were still happy to see the star receiver stick around for the foreseeable future.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was like you\u2019re really rich, bro. You have so much money,\u201d said Falcons running back Bijan Robinson. \u201cBut he\u2019s so humble, he was like \u2018Nah bro, I got to go out there and prove it.\u2019 I was super happy for him.\u201d<\/p>\n
Robinson called London his best teammate. The All-Pro back is likely next to get extended, but he praised his receiver for all the things he does even when the ball doesn\u2019t come his way.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019ll do whatever is asked of him and that\u2019s why I think he deserves everything,\u201d Robinson said.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s a great piece for this offense and for this team. He brings everybody along with him. I\u2019m just happy for Drake and hopefully we get to see more of that this fall,\u201d said Matthew Bergeron, Falcons offensive lineman.<\/p>\n
London will speak to the media on Tuesday. OTAs continue Tuesday and Thursday before mandatory minicamp June 16-18.<\/p>\n
