According to Lewis Steele of The Daily Mail<\/a>, Leeds are \u201cconsidering a move for Kostas Tsimikas this summer after their promotion to the Premier League.\u201d With their current left-back Junior Firpo heavily linked with a move to Real Betis, Daniel Farke\u2019s men are on the hunt for top-flight experience\u2014and Tsimikas fits the profile.<\/p>\n

Despite signing a contract extension that runs until 2027, Tsimikas has struggled to cement a first-team spot under Slot. He managed just eight starts in 17 Premier League appearances this past season, often playing second fiddle to Andy Robertson.<\/p>\n

In Tsimikas, Leeds would gain a seasoned Premier League performer who also boasts Champions League experience. His attacking instincts and work ethic could suit Farke\u2019s pressing style perfectly. Tsimikas has also became a fan-favourite since his \u00a312million move to Liverpool, known for his charisma and camaraderie\u2014something Leeds will value in their dressing room during a crucial return season.<\/p>\n

For Tsimikas, this move could be the right opportunity at the right time. With game time limited and competition high at Liverpool, a transfer might offer the chance to become a regular starter once again. He remains a quality player, and at 29, he still has several good years ahead.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s no indication that Liverpool are actively pushing him out, but the writing seems to be on the wall. With a contract until 2027, any deal would likely require Leeds to pay a respectable fee\u2014though not necessarily a huge one given his limited minutes last season.<\/p>\n

This news evokes mixed emotions. On one hand, Tsimikas has always been more than just a backup left-back. He\u2019s been a team player, a morale booster, and someone who steps up when called upon. Fans will fondly remember his contributions, not least his winning penalty in the 2022 FA Cup Final.<\/p>\n

However, football is evolving under Arne Slot. With a title-winning campaign under his belt already, it\u2019s clear the Dutchman won\u2019t rest on sentimentality. If bringing in a younger, dynamic option like Kerkez is part of the plan, then unfortunately, that means room must be made\u2014and Tsimikas is the logical choice.<\/p>\n

For Tsimikas himself, Leeds could be an ideal landing spot. They\u2019re a historic club, back in the big time, and they\u2019ll need leaders and experience. It would be a shame to see him go, but few fans would begrudge him the chance to play regular football again.<\/p>\n
