There hasn\u2019t been anyone in the modern era at Celtic who has been no-nonsense and straight to the point like Gordon Strachan and Martin O\u2019Neill. <\/strong><\/p>\n

After O\u2019Neill\u2019s<\/a> legendary spell after the turn of the century, Strachan<\/a> replaced the Irishman and continued Celtic\u2019s<\/a> success on the pitch. <\/p>\n

Nobody expected O\u2019Neill to return years later<\/a>, but that\u2019s where Celtic are, and now it has been suggested he will be in charge for the Hoops\u2019 56th Premiership title push<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In typical Strachan fashion, when he was told that O\u2019Neill is expected to stay for another 12 months<\/a>, he stated it\u2019s good news because \u2018it keeps the natives from being so restless,\u2019 as he told Off the Underside Podcast. <\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s a good choice because I think it keeps the natives from being so restless,\u201d said Strachan. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe all know how that can be a big effect, especially at Celtic.\u201d<\/p>\n

There needs to be a rebuild from top to bottom at Celtic<\/a>. <\/p>\n

New faces need to enter the boardroom, as well as several big stars heading for the exit door and needing to be replaced. <\/p>\n

This is where O\u2019Neill comes into his own, and it will be interesting to see how he is going to be used by the powers that be. <\/p>\n

Strachan was right to point out that Celtic have to use O\u2019Neill\u2019s \u2018intelligence\u2019 and \u2018football knowledge\u2019 to build a \u2018better structure behind him.\u2019 <\/p>\n

If the underfire Dermot Desmond<\/a> and those sitting in the boardroom can do that, then, at the very least, it will release the intense pressure that has been on them for the past 12 months. <\/p>\n
