After the year she\u2019s had on Coronation Street, Betsy Swain<\/a>\u00a0(Sydney Martin<\/a>) is due some good news. Trouble is, her mum DS\u00a0Lisa Connor-Swain<\/a>\u00a0(Vicky Myers<\/a>)\u00a0might not see it that way\u2026<\/p>\n

Poor Betsy has been through enough drama to make the most seasoned resident of the Cobbles balk, and she\u2019s not even twenty yet.<\/p>\n

First she suffered the tragic death of her mother Betsy Swain, and then caught entangled with She blackmailed future step-mum,\u00a0Carla Connor<\/a>\u00a0(Alison King<\/a>) and later found herself\u00a0deeply entangled<\/a> with creepy acid-throwing stalker\u00a0Joel Deering\u00a0<\/a>(Calum Lill<\/a>).<\/p>\n

After her boyfriend Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan) was stabbed to death by his brother<\/a>, she caught a stray bullet from her own mum during a terrifying stand-off with\u00a0escaped killer Rob Donovan (Marc Baylis)<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Then came the reunion with her supposedly dead mum Becky Swain (Amy Cudden). Unfortunately, Becky turned out to be a certified bunny boiler on an absolute bonkers mission to give Carla Connor-Swain<\/a>(Alison King<\/a>) the old cuckoo in the nest treatment<\/a> so she could be with Lisa, culminating in poor Besty being trapped in a deadly car chase <\/a>before the raving loon was finally brought to justice<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Even then, the drama wasn\u2019t over for Betsy. On the night of Lisa and Carla\u2019s wedding<\/a>, Betsy was horrified to discover the body of abuser<\/a>\u00a0Theo Silverton<\/a>\u00a0(James Cartwright<\/a>), murdered by a mystery attacker<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been a harrowing ordeal for Betsy, so much so that Lisa and Carla agreed to postpone their honeymoon<\/a> just so they could properly look after their daughter.<\/p>\n

Now for the first time in a while, Betsy\u2019s future looks bright as she\u2019s loved up with Sean Tully<\/a>\u2019s (Antony Cotton<\/a>) tearaway son Dylan Wilson<\/a>\u00a0(Liam McCheyne<\/a>) for a sweet coming of age story<\/a> in which her mum Lisa will be \u2018massively involved\u2019.<\/p>\n

Upcoming scenes of Coronation Street will see Betsy becoming a bit of a tearaway herself, as she, Dylan and\u00a0Brody Michaelis<\/a>\u00a0(Ryan Mulvey<\/a>)\u00a0 get refused service by Sean in the Rovers. so head to the precinct with some cans instead. <\/p>\n

However, just when you think Betsy\u2019s future is all getting a bit Shameless, she gets some news that may change her life forever. <\/p>\n

Betsy confides in Lauren Bolton<\/a>\u00a0(Cait Fitton<\/a>) that she\u2019s been offered a place at the London College of Fashion. But she\u2019s worried about leaving Dylan. How will he react to the news?<\/p>\n
