If Spurs are serious about pushing back into the top four and mixing it with the very best, the Tottenham squad needs freshening up in several areas.

That said, they’re not the only ones in the market for reinforcements. At just 22, he’s already proven himself in the Premier League with Spurs, showing he can operate on either flank, and offering the kind of physicality and presence Pep Guardiola tends to value.

Hugo Viana, City’s new director of football, is reportedly a long-time admirer of Udogie—tracking him since his Udinese days, before Tottenham swooped in under Fabio Paratici’s watch.

With Kyle Walker now well into his thirties, and expected to move on this summer, it’s no surprise City are on the lookout for a replacement—and Udogie has quickly emerged as one of their top options.

🚨🔵 Understand Manchester City will sign a new fullback in the summer and they’ve now added Destiny Udogie to the shortlist.

Not an easy deal as Spurs see Udogie as key player but City like him.

Andrea Cambiaso, still on the list too. @GiveMeSport ⤵️ https://t.co/bRXB5uBHJG

— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) April 10, 2025

View Tweet

Udogie to Manchester City? Spurs, Levy, and the summer window

Of course, any attempt to sign Destiny Udogie won’t be without its challenges—chief among them, dealing with Daniel Levy.

But then again, City did manage to get Kyle Walker out of north London back in 2018, so it’s not impossible.

Udogie’s had a decent campaign in north London this season, despite battling injury. He’s made 23 Premier League appearances, registering one assist during that run.

Tottenham are reported to rate Udogie incredibly highly. In Italy, he’s been described as ‘untouchable’.

Within the Spurs camp, he’s seen as a vital part of the club’s future—one of the key young players Ange Postecoglou is expected to build around.

City do have other options. Andrea Cambiaso of Juventus was a priority target in January, though Juve were reluctant to sell at the time.

That could change in the summer, with Cambiaso now considered a more realistic option as well. Still, Udogie remains firmly on their radar.

READ MORE: Ange Postecoglou sends rallying cry to Tottenham 12th man ahead of Europa League clash

Have something to tell us about this article?
