Wedding bells are chiming in Coronation Street. Bethany Platt<\/a>\u00a0(Lucy Fallon<\/a>) is about to get the shock of her life when her mum\u2019s boyfriend Kit \u00a0Kit Green<\/a>\u00a0(Jacob Roberts<\/a>) surprises by popping a big question.<\/p>\n

Since the day she was born, Bethany Platt has had a revolving door of step-dads.<\/p>\n

Her mum Sarah Platt<\/a>\u00a0(Tina O\u2019Brien<\/a>) became pregnant with Bethany as a teenager, and the father Neil Fearns died in a car crash a few years later. <\/p>\n

Since then, Sarah\u2019s had her pick of the Weatherfield legends, briefly dating her bestie Todd Grimshaw<\/a>\u00a0(Gareth Pierce<\/a>) before he came out as gay by kissing her brother Nick Tilsley (Ben Price<\/a>)<\/strong> and began a turbulent on-again off again relationship with his brother Jason Grimshaw (Ryan Thomas) in revenge. While the couple got engaged and eventually married, it ultimately didn\u2019t work out.<\/p>\n

Other conquests include murderous gangster Callum Logan (Sean Ward), and a stable marriage to lawyer Adam Barlow<\/a>\u00a0(Sam Robertson<\/a>), until she strayed by cheating with drug dealing lowlife Damon Hay (Ciar\u00e1n Griffiths).<\/p>\n

Sarah\u2019s clearly got a thing for bad boys, as one of her most notable romance on the Cobbles was with the scariest builder on the Cobbles, \u00a0Gary Windass<\/a>\u00a0(Mikey North<\/a>). This attraction was actually shared by Bethany, whose obsession with Sarah\u2019s boyfriend<\/a> caused a rift between mother and daughter for a time.<\/p>\n

Doing a complete 180 from dating criminals, Sarah began a romance with Cobbles copper DS Kit Green. Bethany didn\u2019t have the best introduction to her future stepdad, who arrested her in late 2025 for taking her boss\u2019s car without permission. After strong rumors and storylines involving an affair with Kit, fans were blindsided by the revelation that Kit had been dating Sarah all along.<\/p>\n

Kit\u2019s the whole package. Dedicated, career-driven\u2026 and he just so happens to be investigating Gary for the murder of Theo Silverton (James Cartwright).<\/a><\/p>\n

Which is interesting, because Sarah\u2019s been growing closer to Gary again<\/a> again ever since she was attacked by the unhinged Jodie Ramsey<\/a> ,\u00a0Olivia Frances-Brown<\/a> on the night of Theo\u2019s murder.<\/p>\n

So much so, that Gary\u2019s wife \u00a0<\/a>Maria<\/a>\u00a0(Samia Longchambon<\/a>) is starting to get suspicious<\/a>, especially when he goes leaping to his ex\u2019s defence<\/a> over the slightest thing.<\/p>\n
