As expected, Blumhouse and Universal\u2019s M3GAN 2.0<\/strong> has received a PG-13 rating from the MPA, but it looks like the film will be pushing some things a bit further than its predecessor.<\/p>\n

While M3GAN was rated \u201cPG-13\u201d for \u201cViolent content and terror, some strong language and a suggestive reference,\u201d M3GAN 2.0 has received the same rating for the following:<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cStrong violent content, bloody images, some strong language, sexual material, and brief drug references.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

It\u2019s interesting to note that M3GAN was cut down to receive its \u201cPG-13\u201d rating for theaters back in 2023, with a slightly different \u201cUnrated\u201d version<\/a> of the movie released on home video.<\/p>\n

M3GAN 2.0\u00a0slays into theaters on\u00a0June 27<\/strong>\u00a0from Universal.<\/p>\n

Director\u00a0Gerard Johnstone<\/strong>\u00a0and writer\u00a0Akela Cooper<\/strong>\u00a0are back for the follow-up to their 2023 film along with producers\u00a0James Wan<\/strong>\u00a0of Atomic Monster and\u00a0Jason Blum<\/strong>\u00a0of Blumhouse.<\/p>\n

Allison Williams, Violet McGraw, Brian Jordan Alvarez, Jen Van Epps, Amie Donald<\/strong>, and\u00a0Jenna Davis<\/strong> star alongside Ivanna Sakhno, Aristotle Athari, Timm Sharp<\/strong>, and\u00a0Jemaine Clement<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Two years after M3GAN, a marvel of artificial intelligence, went rogue and embarked on a murderous rampage and was subsequently destroyed, M3GAN\u2019s creator Gemma has become a high-profile author and advocate for government oversight of A.I. Meanwhile, Gemma\u2019s niece Cady, now 14, has become a teenager, rebelling against Gemma\u2019s overprotective rules.<\/p>\n

Unbeknownst to them, the underlying tech for M3GAN has been stolen and misused by a powerful defense contractor to create a military-grade weapon known as Amelia, the ultimate killer infiltration spy. But as Amelia\u2019s self-awareness increases, she becomes decidedly less interested in taking orders from humans. Or in keeping them around\u2026<\/p>\n

With the future of human existence on the line, Gemma realizes that the only option is to resurrect M3GAN and give her a few upgrades, making her faster, stronger, and more lethal. As their paths collide, the original A.I bitch is about to meet her match.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
