The new signings the 49ers made last summer were instrumental in the success Leeds United<\/a> enjoyed upon their return to the Premier League.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The likes of Gabriel Gudmundsson<\/a>, James Justin and Jaka Bijol all bolstered United\u2019s defence, with all three players being relied upon for large stages of last season. <\/p>\n

At the attacking end of the pitch, Dominic Calvert-Lewin<\/a>, Lukas Nmecha and Noah Okafor all scored important goals to help keep the Whites in the top flight.<\/p>\n

Anton Stach\u2019s signing proved to be an incredibly shrewd piece of business from Leeds United<\/p>\n

However, it is a midfield signing that Leeds made last year that has arguably aged the best. That\u2019s especially given one of the latest major Premier League transfer updates.<\/p>\n

When Anton Stach<\/a> walked through the door at Elland Road, nobody could\u2019ve imagined the impact the German international would have.<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old completley revolutionised our midfield, ending the season with five goals and three assists in 29 Premier League appearances.<\/p>\n

For my money, he\u2019s the best technical player we have at the club. Stach has constantly provided that much-needed spark in the final third whilst also being incredibly effective off the ball.<\/p>\n

Leeds secured all this for an initial \u00a317.3million fee<\/a>, which could rise to \u00a319.9million if all add-ons are met.<\/p>\n

This is extraordinary when you consider how much players in Stach\u2019s position are being touted for this summer. Nottingham Forest\u2019s Elliot Anderson is subject of a bid worth over \u00a3120million after add-ons, according to David Ornstein<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Of course, it\u2019s not hard to argue that Anderson is a better player than Stach. Although, there\u2019s no way his value should be over six times higher than what we paid for our free-kick-scoring German.<\/p>\n

Why extraordinary Elliot Anderson bid is good news for Leeds United<\/p>\n

We all want Stach to be running the Whites\u2019 engine room for many years to come. Though, the extraordinary amount of money being thrown at Forest for Anderson\u2019s services will certainly give Leeds confidence.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s say Stach enjoys another campaign equally as impressive as last season. Like it or not, he will likely be the subject of interest from elsewhere.<\/p>\n

But given the current price of midfielders, especially Premier League proven ones, Leeds would seemingly be able to make a gigantic profit on the initial fee they paid for Stach should he eventually leave.<\/p>\n

Would Stach be worth over \u00a3120million like Anderson?<\/p>\n

Absolutely not. Anderson\u2019s age, 23, is a big contributing factor in his mammoth evaluation by Forest.<\/p>\n

But from a Leeds perspective, if they did end up forking out \u00a319.9million for Stach after add-ons, there\u2019s no reason as to why the 49ers couldn\u2019t at least triple their return on investment should he leave West Yorkshire.<\/p>\n

No one associated with Leeds will want Stach to leave. But, Anderson\u2019s transfer saga will give the Whites confidence that if someone does want to take one of our midfield generals, then it will cost a hefty fee.<\/p>\n
