{"id":1020502,"date":"2026-06-11T21:03:16","date_gmt":"2026-06-11T21:03:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/1020502\/"},"modified":"2026-06-11T21:03:16","modified_gmt":"2026-06-11T21:03:16","slug":"german-romanian-project-radio-free-europe-receives-first-council-of-europe-and-ebus-european-series-development-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/1020502\/","title":{"rendered":"German\/Romanian Project Radio Free Europe Receives First Council of Europe and EBU\u2019s European Series Development Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>COLOGNE: Radio Free Europe, a series created by Brigitte Drodtloff and produced by\u00a0Maze Pictures (Germany)\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.microfilm.eu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">MicroFILM<\/a> (Romania)\u00a0has been selected as the recipient of the\u00a0European Series Development Award 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Launched\u00a0earlier this year during TV Drama Vision during the Gothenburg Film Festival by the Council of Europe and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), the award provides 50,000 EUR in development support to help advance ambitious European drama series with strong international coproduction potential.<\/p>\n<p>The award was presented during Seriencamp Conference\u00a0in Cologne, Germany, a three-day industry event that brings together producers, creatives, broadcasters and distributors from across Europe.<\/p>\n<p>Following an evaluation process conducted by the\u00a0EBU Fiction Expert Group, five projects were shortlisted and invited to participate in a live pitching session at Seriencamp Conference.
