Propane heaters can be a convenient way to keep outdoor spaces warm and welcoming on colder days. But as one family in Australia discovered recently, they can also make surprisingly appealing hiding spots for wildlife.<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, a wildlife specialist from Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24\/7<\/a> was called to the home to gently remove and relocate a surprise visitor measuring an estimated 6 feet long:<\/p>\n

Fortunately, the snake, believed to be a carpet python, seemed perfectly content to leave once discovered. She even required little coaxing to slither into the specialist\u2019s snake-transport bag.<\/p>\n

And before long, the python was released back into a more fitting natural area.<\/p>\n

Though Australia is home to many venomous snake species, the one relocated that day is not among them. Carpet pythons pose little threat to humans, but are known to venture into backyards, homes and sometimes even people\u2019s fish tanks<\/a>.<\/p>\n
