Recently, Dasha Doronicheva<\/a> and a few friends decided to take a kayaking trip down the Ugra River in Russia. The tranquil waterway weaves through the countryside, past patches of forest and farmland.<\/p>\n

Little did the group know starting out, however, that this would soon be the setting of a heartwarming reunion.<\/p>\n

Along one stretch of the river, Doronicheva and her friends spotted some animals just off the grassy shore.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were floating along, chatting, enjoying the views, and after a couple of hours, we noticed a grazing herd of cows, and among them there was one bleating sheep,\u201d Doronicheva said<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The sheep was calling out, but no one was sure why.<\/p>\n

After paddling a ways further down the river, the group spotted something else on the shore.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe notice a little black speck, darting from side to side, crying,\u201d Doronicheva said.<\/p>\n

Moving in closer, the group realized it was a black baby lamb \u2014 and their thoughts immediately turned to the bleating sheep they\u2019d seen earlier.<\/p>\n

“At that moment, the decision was made to save him,” Doronicheva said.<\/p>\n

So, the group pulled to shore to carry the baby back to his worried mother.<\/p>\n

Approaching the spot where the sheep and cows had been seen grazing, Doronicheva then placed the little black lamb on the ground.<\/p>\n

And moments later, the reunion she’d hoped for finally happened.<\/p>\n

Doronicheva couldn\u2019t help but shed tears of joy:<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is so much love in this moment as they rush toward each other,\u201d Doronicheva said.<\/p>\n

Thanks to the kindness and compassion of the group that day, a little family was reunited. It\u2019s something Doronicheva is unlikely to forget.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s a great joy that we were able to help,\u201d Doronicheva told The Dodo. “A small good deed.”<\/p>\n
