Coronation Street<\/a> legend Roy Cropper<\/a> (David Neilson<\/a>) has possibly the biggest heart of any soap character ever, and he further proved that in tonight\u2019s episode.<\/p>\n

Poor Roy got caught up in an argument between Betsy Swain<\/a> (Sydney Martin<\/a>) and Lauren Bolton<\/a> (Cait Fitton<\/a>) and ended up with a face full of ketchup \u2013 but that didn\u2019t stop him from trying to help one of the youngsters.<\/p>\n

Lauren spent most of her day fretting about her employment situation as she struggled to find a job to help her support son Frankie, who had just been discharged from hospital.<\/p>\n

Things only got worse for her when Betsy arrived at the caf\u00e9 and immediately laid into her for using Bobby Crawford\u2019s (Jack Carroll) money<\/a> for a deposit on a new flat.<\/p>\n

Though Lauren insisted she\u2019d pay him back, Betsy didn\u2019t believe her, and soon the argument escalated and Lauren grabbed a bottle of ketchup to squirt at Betsy.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, it was Roy who took the brunt of the attack<\/a>, much to the horror of Carla Connor (Alison King), who arrived in the aftermath of the row.<\/p>\n

As she helped to clean Roy up, she lamented that she already had enough to deal with trying to run two understaffed businesses without having to fix Lauren and Betsy\u2019s mess on top.<\/p>\n

With Carla in need of more staff at the Rovers<\/a>, Roy was struck by an idea, and made a heartfelt plea to Carla to offer Lauren the position.<\/p>\n

If anyone\u2019s able to convince Carla to do something, it\u2019s Roy.<\/p>\n

Carla agreed to give her a trial shift, and soon Lauren was getting stuck in behind the bar.<\/p>\n

Her trial shift was pretty eventful, given that she was left under the watchful eye of Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger), who had her own ideas about how the pub should be run.<\/p>\n

Despite accidentally throwing beer over her mentor while learning to pull a pint, Lauren\u2019s shift went well, and Glenda seemed happy to have her on board.<\/p>\n

Will Lauren\u2019s new job become a permanent thing, and will she be able to keep to her promise of paying Bobby back?<\/p>\n
