Among them is the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sheknows.com\/entertainment\/articles\/1234890937\/what-to-expect-kate-middleton-trooping-the-colour-2025\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Trooping the Colour<\/a>, a military ceremony that has marked the celebration of the sovereign\u2019s birthday for more than 250 years. The ceremony has been a staple of the royal family since the 1800s, but it was only within the last several decades that royal fans and the monarchy\u2019s subjects got a glimpse of the royal family.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s right, we\u2019re talking about those <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sheknows.com\/entertainment\/slideshow\/2496166\/queen-elizabeth-children-through-the-years-photos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">iconic photos of members of the House of Windsor<\/a> gathered on Buckingham Palace\u2019s balcony for photo ops, waving to the crowd, and watching the entire spectacle of Trooping the Colour unfold (if you\u2019ve ever wondered why they\u2019re all looking up, by the way \u2014 it\u2019s to watch a fly-past of the Royal Air Force).<\/p>\n<p>Over the years, there\u2019ve been some adorable snapshots of young Princes William and Harry \u2014 who could forget when <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sheknows.com\/tags\/prince-harry\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Prince Harry<\/a> stuck his tongue out when <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sheknows.com\/entertainment\/slideshow\/2088081\/princess-diana-prince-william-prince-harry-photos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">mom Princess Diana was holding him in 1988<\/a>?
