Former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag could make his return to management in the Bundesliga as he is reportedly a candidate to replace Xabi Alonso at Bayer Leverkusen.<\/p>\n
The 55-year-old was sacked by United in October after winning just four out of 14 games in the Premier League<\/a> this season.<\/p>\n During his two-and-a-bit years at Old Trafford<\/a>, Ten Hag won the Carabao Cup and FA Cup<\/a>, though he failed to secure Champions League<\/a> football in his final full season at the club.<\/p>\n READ MORE:<\/strong>Another Tottenham player could miss Europa League final vs Manchester United<\/a><\/p>\n READ MORE:<\/strong>Manchester United sold star who Ruben Amorim would have loved – now he’s set for Champions League<\/a><\/p>\n Since being dismissed by United seven months ago, Ten Hag has been linked with various managerial positions, including clubs in the Serie A.<\/p>\n However, The Athletic<\/a> reports that the Dutchman’s return to the dugout could come in Germany as he has been shortlisted as one of several candidates who could replace Alonson at Leverkusen.<\/p>\n Last week, the Spaniard announced that he would be leaving the club after Sunday’s Bundesliga finale against Mainz 05.
