It stated: &#8220;A six-month supplementation with omega 3&amp;6 and antioxidants acts efficiently against hair loss in improving hair density and reducing the telogen percentage and the proportion of miniaturised anagen hair.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>Aside from diet, how you wash your hair can make a huge difference to its length and thickness.<\/p>\n<p>The dermatologist explained: &#8220;Maintaining a proper hair-washing routine is crucial. Overwashing can strip the scalp of natural oils, leading to dryness and increased breakage, while under-washing can result in buildup, clogged follicles, and inflammation.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Dr Rashid recommended washing hair &#8220;every other day&#8221; with a cleansing shampoo or a scalp exfoliator to &#8220;maintain a healthy scalp&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>She added: &#8220;Scalp exfoliation using mild chemical exfoliants like salicylic acid and glycolic acid can remove dead skin cells and excess sebum, reducing follicle-clogging.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>When washing your hair, ensure you are using a temperature that will not cause damage.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"0afcd\" data-rm-shortcode-id=\"d11e147205dfedace4c58950c51297d8\" data-rm-shortcode-name=\"rebelmouse-image\" class=\"rm-shortcode rm-lazyloadable-image \" lazy-loadable=\"true\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns='http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg'%20viewBox='0%200%202263%201325'%3E%3C\/svg%3E\" data-runner-src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/woman-washing-in-shower.jpg\" width=\"2263\" height=\"1325\" alt=\"Woman washing in shower\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The temperature of your shower can matter considerably for your hair&#8217;s thickness<\/p>\n<p>GETTY <\/p>\n<p>The expert said: &#8220;Lukewarm water is preferable, as hot water weakens the hair shaft, making it prone to breakage.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Another woman has claimed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gbnews.com\/lifestyle\/hair-shiny-silky-hack-oil\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">jojoba oil helped her grow long, luscious locks<\/a> when applied to the lengths weekly.<\/p>\n<p>She described how she uses the oil in a recent TikTok, captioned: &#8220;You started adding jojoba oil to your hair oiling routine, and now your hair is always shiny and silky.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>She stated elsewhere that she applies the oil to the lengths of her strands once a week, brushing the product through and letting it sit for one to 1.5 hours.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Several factors influence the thickness and length of hair, including genetics, hormones, scalp condition, diet, and stress.
